Dysport®
Achieve a Youthful Look with Dysport®
What is Dysport®?
Dysport® is a prescription injectable medication containing botulinum toxin type A. Similar to BOTOX®, it is used for cosmetic purposes to temporarily reduce facial wrinkles and lines by blocking nerve signals in the injected muscles. This treatment helps to relax the muscles and smooth out the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
History and FDA Approval
In 1991, Dysport was approved for use for certain muscle spasm disorders in Europe and Asia under the brand name Dysport. It eventually made its way to the United States in 2009 when the FDA approved Dysport to treat forehead wrinkles and frown lines, making it only the second drug to be approved by the agency as a wrinkle treatment.Dysport (formerly known as Reloxin) is made from the same active ingredient as BOTOX. It relaxes wrinkles while still allowing "natural expression" in the treated areas, making it an excellent choice for those preferring a more natural look.
Longevity
The effects of Dysport can last for several months before gradually wearing off, at which point additional treatments may be needed to maintain the results. Dysport is particularly effective at treating forehead wrinkles and frown lines, providing a smoother and more youthful appearance without compromising natural facial expressions.
